Description of the JobWe are looking for a passionate and experienced Pharmacist to join our healthcare team. The successful applicant will have a good history in patient care and medication administration with an emphasis on ICU experience. This position is vital in ensuring the safe and effective use of pharmaceuticals and the delivery of complete pharmaceutical care to patients.
Duties- Medication Dispensing:
Distribute drugs accurately and effectively in accordance with legal and regulatory standards. - Patient and Healthcare Professional Support:
Provide professional advice to healthcare professionals and patients on drug administration, potential side effects and interactions. - Medication Reviews:
Conduct comprehensive medication reviews for patients, particularly those in intensive care units, to improve therapeutic outcomes. - Multidisciplinary
Collaboration:
Work with physicians and other health care providers in the development and implementation of patient-specific drug programs. - Record Management:
Maintain accurate records of medications and patient interactions, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with data protection legislation. Teach patients the right way to take medications including dosage, time of day, and storage recommendations. - Professional Development:
Stay current with the latest pharmacology, therapeutics and pertinent clinical guideline news.
- A legitimate pharmacy degree from an approved institution and registration with the applicable regulatory agency.
- Proven ICU experience is greatly preferred.
- Solid understanding of anatomy and physiology as it relates to medication.
- Strong communication skills with a focus on patient care and education.
- Ability to work in a collaborative manner as part of a multidisciplinary team, and to provide leadership when appropriate.
- Strong organisation abilities with attention to detail in medication management practices.
