Location: Parkside Care Home, Parkside Road, Reading RG30 2DP

Contract: Permanent - Full Time

Hours: 44 hours per week, covering days and nights

Salary: £13.25 - £14.84 per hour depending on experience

Parkside care home offers comfortable nursing and residential care for anyone over 18, including short stay, palliative and Parkinson’s care. The purpose‑built home is spacious and quiet, with gardens and a 24‑hour call system, and focuses on person‑centred care, dignity and independence.

• Day‑to‑day responsibility for running a unit
• Support clinical duties – observe, issue medication, review care plans and accurate record keeping
• Drive and manage a team of Care Assistants, responsible for shift handovers
• Assist with training and supervision of new staff members
• Build relationships with residents, families and external teams such as GPs and District Nurses
• Assist residents with a range of personal care duties

• Completed or working towards an NVQ3 in care (support provided)
• Motivated, positive, with strong interpersonal skills and enjoyment of close‑knit teamwork
• Previous experience in similar role with passion for compassionate care
