This is a fixed-term/secondment opportunity for 12 months to 31st August 2027 to cover maternity leave**
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated and organised individual to join the established Trauma Nurse Practitioner (TNP) team as a Trauma Coordinator on a fixed-term basis to provide maternity leave cover.
The post holder will play a key role in the day-to-day coordination of trauma patients
, ensuring efficient patient flow, timely surgical planning, and effective communication across multidisciplinary teams.
The role is pivotal in supporting service delivery, acting as the central point of contact for trauma referrals and pathway coordination.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare for and actively participate in the daily trauma meeting and post-take ward round.
- Coordinate ambulatory trauma patients, ensuring appropriate planning for surgery or fracture clinic review.
- Maintain and update trauma lists to support efficient patient flow and service delivery.
- Act as a central point of contact for in-house trauma patients, supporting clinical reviews and ensuring required investigations are completed.
- Provide guidance and support to trauma and outlying wards for patients of concern, facilitating timely escalation where needed.
- Organise trauma TCI (to come in) patients, including arranging pre-operative assessments and appointments.
- Serve as a point of contact for patients awaiting planned trauma procedures.
- Coordinate multidisciplinary team (MDT) meetings for specialist areas, including hand & wrist and shoulder & elbow services.
