Female Support Worker – Reading (RG2)

Location: Reading (RG2)
Hours: Full Time – 37.5 hours per week
Pay: £13.45 per hour + £50 per sleep-in shift (optional)

About the role

We're looking for a compassionate and energetic Female Support Worker to join our team in Reading (RG2), supporting four ladies aged 30s–50s with learning disabilities and epilepsy.

This is a warm, structured and active home where communication goes beyond words. The ladies express themselves through gestures, sounds and expressions, and thrive with support from people who take the time to understand their individual personalities, preferences and routines.

The people we support enjoy:
  • Shopping trips, meals out and cinema visits
  • Swimming and local sports activities
  • Music, sensory activities and relaxation
  • Festivals, celebrations and family visits
  • Day trips, community activities and holidays abroad

You'll provide person-centred support that promotes independence, confidence and wellbeing while helping each person enjoy the activities they love.

Support includes:
  • Personal care and daily living support
  • Medication administration
  • Meal preparation and healthy lifestyle support
  • Hoist and mobility support (full training provided)
  • Supporting communication through non-verbal cues
  • Community activities, shopping and budgeting
  • Encouraging independence, choice and social inclusion

Families play an active role in the lives of the people we support, making positive and respectful relationship-building an important part of the role.

Shifts:
  • 7:00am – 2:00pm
  • 2:00pm – 9:00pm
  • Alternate weekends
  • Optional sleep-ins: 10:00pm – 7:00am (£50 paid to sleep)

Rotas are provided in advance to support a healthy work-life balance.
