Perinatal Service Patient Safety Administrator
The Perinatal Services Patient Safety Administrator will provide comprehensive administrative, analytical and project support to the Perinatal Patient Safety Team, supporting the delivery of the Patient Safety Incident Response Framework (PSIRF).
This will include support for Patient Safety Lead for Maternity, Gynaecology and Paediatrics, Compliance Leads, Band 7 Patient Safety Lead, PMR Midwife and Obstetric Patient Safety Leads. The post holder will act as a central point of coordination for patient safety activity across perinatal services, ensuring patient safety investigations, action plans, reviews and reporting requirements are managed efficiently and accurately.
They will support the collection, analysis and presentation of patient safety data to inform learning, assurance and service improvement. The role requires excellent organisational, communication and analytical skills, together with the ability to manage sensitive information with professionalism and confidentiality.
- Provide administrative support to the Perinatal Patient Safety Team within the perinatal service and wider compliance, governance and PMRT teams.
- Coordinate patient safety investigations and learning response processes in accordance with PSIRF.
- Maintain patient safety tracking systems and investigation databases.
- Monitor investigation timelines and expedite overdue actions where appropriate.
- Ensure patient safety records are maintained accurately and in accordance with Trust policies.
- Assist with preparation of documentation for internal and external reviews.
- Prepare agendas, collate papers and distribute meeting documentation.
- Attend meetings and produce high-quality minutes and action logs.
- Monitor actions arising from meetings and provide progress updates.
- Support the preparation of reports for Trust committees and governance groups.
- Liaise with clinical services, investigators and corporate teams.
- Respond professionally to enquiries relating to patient safety processes.
- Maintain effective relationships with governance, quality and operational teams.
- Communicate sensitively when handling information relating to patient harm, complaints and investigations.
