Job Summary
The Platforms Engineer post is a key technical position requiring a dedicated self-motivated individual to ensure reliable and efficient support to our technical Digital Services infrastructure. This includes Data Centre environment management, desktop, server, storage and backup systems, access and security systems, and Active Directory infrastructure. The post holder will liaise with Digital Services Service Delivery teams to ensure published service level agreements are met.
The post holder must be self-directed, able to work autonomously, interpret technical policies, process confidential Trust data, and use VPN and two-factor authentication to support information security policies. The role involves implementing and supporting technical solutions across RBH, liaising with third-party suppliers, short-term contractors and Trust staff, and having exposure to PRINCE2 project management and ITIL service management methodologies. The post holder will assist Server Engineers and Server Specialists in designing, developing and implementing complex technical solutions and will directly support the Trust’s Digital Services Service Delivery teams.

Essential
- Qualifications:
Degree in IT/Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience - Certifications:
IT infrastructure certs (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator, VMware Certified Professional, CompTIA Security+) - Experience:
Server, storage, and network management in a high-availability environment;
Microsoft Active Directory 2008 R2 and later;
Server virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware vSphere, Nutanix AHV)
