Network Engineer

We are currently looking for experienced Senior Network Engineers to join a high-performing team working on cutting-edge networking technologies.

This is an exciting opportunity to work in a complex and secure network environment, contributing to critical projects while providing senior-level technical leadership.

• Network Design & Support:
  Lead the design, development, and implementation of network solutions.
• Technical Leadership:
  Act as the technical lead, providing guidance to team members and serving as the point of escalation for any complex network issues.
• Problem Solving & Incident Management:
  Resolve network service issues and ensure the reliability of the network infrastructure.

  Work with project leads, customers, and third-party vendors to address technical service issues and contribute to the design and testing of network projects.
• Documentation & Reporting:
  Ensure clear and accurate documentation of network configurations, processes, and troubleshooting steps.
• Extensive experience supporting large, complex networks at a senior engineering level.
• Proficiency in Juniper Technologies:
  Experience with EX, QFX switches, SRX, vSRX firewalls, Junos Space, Security Director, Apstra, etc.
• Strong understanding of network protocols and services: OSPF, BGP, GRE tunnels, VXLAN, EVPN, and VRF configurations.
• Firewall Configuration:
  Experience configuring and troubleshooting firewalls (preferably Juniper SRX, Forti Gate).
• ITIL Service Management:
  Experience delivering services based on ITIL standards.
• Solid experience with network monitoring tools like Solar Winds and Splunk.
• Excellent communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Ability to document network configurations and operational procedures clearly.
• Juniper and Cisco Certifications (JNCIS-ENT, JNCIS-DC, JNCIA-SEC, JNCIP-DC).
• Experience working in a secure environment or handling sensitive data.
• Data Center Experience is advantageous.
• Familiarity with Extreme Networks switches is a plus.

  This role requires 100% on-site presence at Aldermaston, with occasional travel to remote sites (overnight stays may be required).
