Role Overview

We are seeking an IT Change Management Manager to join Edgewing
, a newly formed defence organisation bringing together UK, Italian, and Japanese expertise to shape the future of global defence.

This role is responsible for ensuring that all changes to the IT environment are planned, assessed, authorised, and delivered in a controlled and risk-aware manner
, protecting service availability, stability, and quality in a security-critical environment.

You will operate at the centre of IT operations, governance, and stakeholder coordination, ensuring change activity aligns with business priorities, regulatory expectations, and IT service management best practice.

Key Responsibilities

As the IT Change Management Manager, you will:

  • Own and manage the end-to-end IT Change Management process
  • Ensure all changes are logged, assessed, approved, implemented, and reviewed in line with governance standards
  • Conduct risk and impact assessments for proposed changes to services and infrastructure
  • Facilitate and chair Change Advisory Board (CAB) meetings
  • Coordinate change scheduling and communications to minimise disruption
  • Lead post-implementation reviews
    , capturing lessons learned and driving corrective actions
  • Define, monitor, and report on change KPIs (success rate, failed changes, emergency changes, incidents)
  • Work closely with service owners, IT operations teams, and external suppliers
  • Drive continuous improvement of change processes, tooling, and governance
Required Skills & Experience
  • 5+ years’ experience in IT service delivery, change management, or service operations
  • Strong working knowledge of ITIL-based Change Management
  • Experience running CABs and managing complex change schedules
  • Proven ability to assess risk, impact, and dependencies across IT services
  • Experience defining and managing SLAs and KPIs
  • Strong understanding of ITSM platforms (e.g. Service Now)
  • Good understanding of IT infrastructure and architecture (networks, servers, core platforms)
  • Strong communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • High standards of integrity and confidentiality
  • Active SC clearance
Qualifications
  • IT Service Management certification (
    ITIL v3 / v4
    )
  • Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related field (preferred)
  • PMP or equivalent project management certification (desirable)
  • Contract role – Inside IR35
  • Reading-based with hybrid working
  • Long-term opportunity within a major defence programme
