Business Analyst – Retail Buying & Merchandising Planning; FTC

As a Business Analyst – Planning and Ranging (12‑month FTC) you will support the delivery of projects and programmes across the Technology portfolio, working closely with Product Owners and stakeholders to deliver solutions aligned with Primark’s strategic goals.

• Serve as a core Technology role within the Analysis Practice, delivering projects and programmes across the Technology portfolio.
• Lead the identification, capture, prioritisation, and validation of business and technical requirements and user stories.
• Analyse and document as‑is and to‑be business processes, identify improvement opportunities, and translate business needs into delivery requirements.
• Own end‑to‑end requirements traceability across the delivery lifecycle (design, build, test, deployment) and collaborate with development teams.
• Support quality and deployment activities, including QA and UAT planning, defect triage, prioritisation and act as a key contact during hyper‑care for user‑reported issues.
• Work collaboratively across Product, Technology, business teams, partners and suppliers, championing Primark’s business analysis methodology and supporting discovery, business cases, training and adoption of new systems.

• Minimum 3 years experience in a Business Analysis or business relationship management role in retail, preferably with Buying & Merchandising and delivering Assortment Planner or WSSI solutions.
• Strong knowledge of the software delivery lifecycle, system design concepts and system capabilities, with proven experience as a Business Analyst in a software development environment.
• Practical experience with Agile frameworks such as Scrum or Kanban and using tools like Jira, Azure Dev Ops and Confluence.
• Demonstrated retail and/or e‑commerce domain expertise with analytical, problem‑solving skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, translating technical concepts for non‑technical stakeholders.
• Relevant degree or equivalent; desirable attributes include awareness of industry technologies, familiarity with Power BI or Tableau, and professional certifications such as IIBA, BCS, Scrum Alliance or equivalent.
