About the RoleThis is a role for a lawyer who wants to be in the engine room, not on the sidelines. We are looking for a dynamic, commercially driven Senior Legal Counsel to join a fast‑moving, tech‑enabled organisation delivering ICT and telecommunications services across the UK, Ireland and EMEA. If you bring energy, curiosity and the confidence to influence at pace, this role gives real visibility, real impact and real ownership.
Our Group Function Legal Affairs and Compliance team in Customer Unit North Europe – one of eight Customer Units within Ericsson’s Market Area Europe Middle East and Africa – delivers strategic support across a spectrum of commercial, regulatory, employment and governance matters.
This position will be based in Reading and travel is expected.
What You’ll Do- Be a strategic legal partner to the business, embedded within sales, commercial, contract management, technical and delivery teams
- Lead and close complex, high‑value and business‑critical transactions across ICT, telecommunications and managed services
- Advise on large‑scale technology solutions, networks, connectivity, outsourcing and transformation programmes
- Lead with risk—clearly, confidently and constructively—providing solutions that enable progress rather than slow it
- Navigate and advise on telecoms and technology regulation, translating legal requirements into practical business action
- Anticipate legal, regulatory and commercial challenges and engage early, shaping strategy upfront
- Partner closely with senior stakeholders, acting as a visible and influential voice in key decisions
- Build, refine and scale contract templates, playbooks and legal frameworks for ICT and telecommunication services
- Actively leverage legal technology and AI to improve speed, quality and consistency of legal delivery
- Lead innovative legal projects that simplify complexity, unlock value and modernise how legal supports the business
- Continuously challenge the status quo, bringing new ideas and smarter ways of working
- Design and deliver engaging legal training and awareness sessions tailored to sales, commercial, contract management, technical and delivery teams
- Build legal and business capability across the business by empowering stakeholders to understand risk and make informed decisions
- Embed strategic legal and business thinking into day‑to‑day operations, not just transactions
- Top‑Tier Legal Acumen:
You’re a seasoned legal professional with at least 10 years of broad, complex commercial, operational and corporate legal experience in a publicly listed multinational corporate in‑house setting or at a leading law firm, and agility to work at a senior level. Experience in the ICT and telecommunications industry is essential and international experience is valued. You must be qualified to practice as a solicitor in the jurisdiction. - Being a Strategic Business Partner:

You possess strong business acumen and a strategic mindset.
