Principal Cybersecurity Consultant

Overview

Join our growing Cyber Security team delivering high‑impact work across large‑scale national infrastructure projects. You’ll help organisations protect essential services by shaping secure, resilient IT environments that underpin energy, water, environment, transport, and defence sectors.

You’ll act as a senior cyber voice within complex programmes – building trust with clients, influencing key decisions, and ensuring security is embedded pragmatically and risk‑based. You’ll lead cyber security activities across client engagements, combining hands‑on delivery with strategic advisory. You’ll guide the design and implementation of secure solutions, ensuring alignment with business needs and regulatory expectations. You’ll play a visible role in client engagement, including pre‑sales, shaping opportunities from a cyber perspective.

Internally, you’ll collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, contribute to project leadership, and support the development of others.

• Proven solid experience in cyber security within IT infrastructure or complex enterprise environments
• Strong technical understanding across infrastructure, networks, cloud, and security domains
• Experience leading or contributing to client engagements, including pre‑sales or shaping solutions
• Ability to balance hands‑on delivery with governance, assurance, and stakeholder engagement
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build trust and influence at all levels
• Experience mentoring or leading others within project environments

This is a full‑time, permanent role, UK based, hybrid (2‑3 days/week) aligned to a Jacobs office, with occasional business travel across the UK.
