Senior QA Engineer (Digital Platform) Reading (Hybrid) 2 days in office 3 WFH Permanent The Opportunity We are working with a growing digital platform organisation undergoing a major technology transformation. They are investing heavily in modern engineering practices and are looking to hire a Senior QA Engineer to play a key role in shaping quality across their platform. This is a high-impact position where youll take ownership of test strategy, automation architecture, and release quality , working closely with engineering and product teams to ensure high standards across critical user journeys.

The Role As a Senior QA Engineer, youll operate as a technical leader within quality engineering , responsible for defining how testing is approached across a distributed digital platform. Youll design scalable automation frameworks, influence engineering standards, and ensure robust validation across both frontend and backend systems.

Key Responsibilities Design and implement integration and system-level testing strategies across a modern digital platform Build and maintain test automation frameworks covering UI, API, and service-level validation Define the automation approach and test coverage model across core user journeys Own CI/CD quality gates , including release criteria, pipeline health, and test stability Investigate production issues and feed insights back into test coverage and quality improvements Collaborate with engineers, architects, and product teams on quality strategy and design decisions Provide technical leadership and mentorship to other QA engineers Leverage modern AI-assisted development and testing tools to enhance productivity and coverage About You Were looking for a hands-on senior QA engineer with strong technical capability and a passion for building scalable quality solutions.

Key Skills & Experience Proven experience in end-to-end test automation in production environments (6 years) Strong programming skills in JavaScript, Type Script, Python, or C# Experience designing test frameworks and automation architecture Solid API and UI automation experience (e.g. Playwright, Cypress, or similar) Strong understanding of SQL and data validation techniques Experience working with CI/CD pipelines (e.g. Git Hub Actions, Azure Dev Ops) including release gating Knowledge of non-functional testing (performance, resilience, etc.)

Comfortable balancing manual exploratory testing with automated approaches Experience working in cloud-based environments (AWS or similar) Strong stakeholder communication skills
