The specialist guides business units on how to structure, manage, and govern information—particularly documents, contracts, and knowledge assets—so that data can be shared, retrieved, and leveraged seamlessly across the enterprise.

This role contributes to building a robust information governance ecosystem from the ground up, helping shape world‑class knowledge management capabilities within an international and highly regulated environment.

Key Accountabilities

  • Liaise with the GIGO IKM Lead to maintain alignment between internal information policies and external compliance requirements.
  • Advise business units on knowledge‑management best practices, ensuring consistent adoption across the organisation.
  • Support the design, optimisation, and continuous improvement of document and contract management processes, systems, and governance models.
  • Champion information lifecycle management principles (creation, classification, storage, retention, archiving, disposal) following defence, regulatory, and organisational standards.
  • Promote and govern the use of structured repositories and metadata to enhance discoverability, version control, and traceability of critical information assets.
  • Collaborate with data, digital, and compliance teams to embed knowledge‑management considerations into processes, tools, and change initiatives.
  • Contribute to capability building by training teams on information policies, tools (e.g., SharePoint), and best‑practice ways of working.
Qualifications

Technical degree desirable (bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or related field)

Skills and Experience
  • Demonstrated experience in information and knowledge management within large or regulated organisations
  • Strong understanding of information governance, policy frameworks, and compliance requirements.
  • Familiarity with document and contract lifecycle processes, including control, versioning, approval workflows, and audit obligations.
  • Ability to collaborate with cross‑functional stakeholders and influence adoption of information‑management best practices.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with attention to detail.
