Our technology team is actively seeking for Data Ops Analyst to join its Data Platform & Engineering team, supporting the reliability and performance of its Databricks-based enterprise data platform. The role focuses on monitoring data pipelines, managing incidents, coordinating releases and production handovers, and ensuring data products are well-governed, scalable, and operationally ready. Working closely with Data Engineering and Platform teams, you'll play a key role in delivering trusted data solutions while driving operational excellence and continuous improvement.

What You’ll Do as Data Ops Analyst

In your role, you’ll collaborate with different people across a range of skillsets. Here’s a flavour of your day-to-day:

  • Support the operation and reliability of Primark’s modern data platform helping manage Databricks, dbt Cloud and Azure data services while ensuring data products are production-ready, supportable and aligned with engineering standards.
  • Monitor and maintain critical data pipelines and platform services proactively identifying failures, delays, data quality issues and operational risks while coordinating incident triage, escalation and resolution to minimise business impact.
  • Coordinate releases, deployments and production handovers managing environment readiness, promotion activities, change governance, operational checklists, release schedules and service readiness documentation to ensure smooth delivery.
  • Drive operational excellence through governance and documentation maintaining runbooks, support guides, monitoring dashboards, service catalogues and reporting on platform health, SLA performance, deployment activity and support trends.
  • Collaborate with Data Engineering, Platform, Cloud, Security, BAU and SIAM teams supporting access management, environment support, platform issue resolution, service reviews and continuous improvement initiatives that enhance reliability and supportability.
  • Contribute to Primark’s data platform modernisation journey supporting the migration from Teradata to Databricks, validating production readiness, improving monitoring and automation capabilities and helping embed modern Data Ops practices across deployment, observability and support processes.
What You’ll Bring

  • 2-4 years’ experience in Data Operations, Application Support, Platform Support, Data Engineering Support or a similar operational role supporting business-critical systems and data platforms in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong understanding of modern data platforms and Data Ops practices with exposure to Azure Dev Ops, Databricks, dbt Cloud, Azure data services, SQL, Python, ETL/ELT processes, job scheduling, monitoring, observability and deployment automation.
  • Experience supporting production environments and service operations including monitoring, alerting, incident management, ticketing systems, release management, environment management, change governance and enterprise support processes.
