Systems Engineer - Cloud

The Opportunity

Our client is a global consultancy supporting organisations across the defence and national security sectors. They are looking for a Systems Engineer to join their Infrastructure and Platform Services team, supporting secure, reliable and resilient technology across cloud and on-premises environments.

This is an ideal opportunity for an early-career engineer looking to develop their skills across Azure, Windows/Linux, virtualisation, Kubernetes, Open Shift and automation while working alongside experienced engineers and architects.

• Support cloud and on-premises infrastructure environments.
• Maintain Windows Server and Linux platforms.
• Assist with the deployment and support of Microsoft Azure services.
• Support virtualisation, Kubernetes and Open Shift environments.
• Monitor infrastructure performance, availability and capacity.
• Support incident, problem and change management.
• Assist with backup, disaster recovery and business continuity.
• Contribute to automation, Infrastructure as Code and configuration management.
• Support infrastructure upgrades, migrations and continuous improvement.
• Maintain technical documentation and operational procedures.

• Degree in IT, Computer Science, Systems Engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
• Up to 3 years' experience in infrastructure, systems administration, cloud support or technical operations.
• Foundational understanding of cloud and enterprise infrastructure.
• Strong interest in systems, cloud and platform engineering.
• Good problem-solving and communication skills.
• Willingness to learn and work within structured engineering and security environments.

• AZ-900, AZ-104, CompTIA Network+/Server+, Linux Essentials, ITIL Foundation, or exposure to Kubernetes, Open Shift or container technologies.
