Oracle’s Financial Services Legal team is a specialist group in the company’s Legal Department that delivers strategic legal advice relating to financial services regulatory matters that affect Oracle and its customers. It is global in scope and its responsibilities include monitoring, analysing and advising on regulatory developments, responding to regulatory proposals and consultations, supporting the implementation of regulatory‑driven operational and policy changes, advising on the regulatory implications of new service models, and addressing regulatory matters arising in the context of Oracle’s sales, marketing and transactional activities.

Through this work, the Financial Services Legal team plays a key role in advancing Oracle’s commercial objectives while managing its risks and maintaining its commitment to legal and regulatory compliance.

Oracle is seeking an experienced lawyer to join the Financial Services Legal team as Corporate Counsel. This is a new role created in response to developments in the regulatory landscape that affect service providers in the financial services space, such as the EU’s Digital Operational Resilience Act (DORA) and the UK’s Critical Third Party (CTP) regime. In this role, you will provide support to Oracle in its compliance journey by helping to implement frameworks, policies and processes that enable the company to meet its obligations under applicable regulations while managing its risk.

You will also help manage Oracle’s engagement and relationships with regulators, ensuring that communications are accurate, consistent, timely and aligned with internal policies and legal advice, and helping the company prepare for and respond to regulatory oversight.

• Practicing lawyer with 5‑6 years of relevant post‑qualification experience gained at a top‑tier law firm or in‑house legal department
• Knowledge of financial services regulatory frameworks
• Experience in dealing with regulatory supervision
• Experience in developing and implementing compliance frameworks
• Knowledge of the technology sector
• Excellent communication skills; diligent and attentive to detail
• Self‑motivated, adaptable and commercially minded

Responsibilities:
Provide legal advice to the organization, liaison closely with business to deliver corporate and commercial legal services, perform or coordinate litigation and other legal, administrative or investigative actions handled by outside counsel, draft, review and negotiate major and/or non‑standard technology contracts with public and private sector customers, including licensing agreements, professional services agreements, and cloud services agreements, advise on legal issues involving government and regulatory compliance, respond to ad‑hoc queries by identifying, analysing and evaluating risks to provide appropriate legal solutions, work closely with other lawyers throughout Oracle and coordinate legal matters handled by outside lawyers.

Demonstrate deep general commercial or functional knowledge across a sub‑discipline within the individual’s specialty area.
