Fabric Engineer
We are seeking a skilled and proactive Fabric Engineer to support the delivery of exceptional building services maintenance across our client sites. This role plays an important part in ensuring safe, reliable, and high‑performing environments that enable our clients to operate efficiently and effectively.
By combining technical expertise with a commitment to service excellence, the Fabric Engineer helps uphold our reputation as a dependable and high‑quality facilities partner and contributes to the smooth running of building systems through expert fault finding, routine maintenance, and responsive repairs.
Reporting to the Estates Supervisor, you will help maintain operational continuity, uphold compliance standards and work collaboratively with colleagues and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver scheduled fabric PPM tasks and complete reactive maintenance within agreed SLAs.
- Test, inspect, and maintain electrical systems to required safety and compliance standards.
- Monitor equipment performance and complete servicing and corrective actions to contract requirements.
- Participate in the on‑call rota and respond to callouts promptly.
- Build effective relationships with clients and colleagues and provide clear technical updates.
- Complete work reports, asset updates and compliance records accurately and on time.
- Follow all Health & Safety requirements, including RAMS and COSHH documentation.
- Identify and suggest improvements to systems, processes or service delivery, and support colleagues in other trades when needed.
- Essential experience in painting and decorating.
- Confident use of PDA technology for job reporting and completion.
- Proven experience in reactive and planned preventive maintenance.
- FM or hospital/medical facility experience (advantageous).
- Strong understanding of Health & Safety and practical application of risk assessments.
- Clear communicator, able to engage with stakeholders at all levels.
- Resilient, adaptable and able to manage workload effectively.
- Full UK driving licence (required for on‑call duties).
