Field/Service Technician, Maintenance Technician / Mechanic
Job Details
A typical working pattern is Monday to Friday, 08:30 to 17:30, with a one‑hour lunch break. This role is fully remote at client sites; attendance at our offices is required periodically for team meetings and training.
Responsibilities- Conduct service visits to address reported calls and maintain high standards of professional service support.
- Respond promptly to customer service requests for the repair of business equipment.
- Perform fault diagnosis and implement effective repairs through adjustments, cleaning, or spare parts replacement.
- Carry out preventative maintenance as per manufacturer guidelines and service management recommendations.
- Communicate effectively with customers, providing detailed reports on work completed, and ensure acceptance of equipment condition and performance post‑service.
- Install equipment sold by the company and ensure optimal performance for customer satisfaction.
- Provide training and guidance to customers to maximize equipment efficiency and prevent operational errors.
- Manage inventory of spare parts and consumables effectively to support service operations.
- Experience as an engineer on MFD printers.
- IT knowledge with the ability to network devices and set up scanning functions.
- Strong customer service skills with previous customer‑facing experience.
- Experience working in a target‑driven environment.
- Professional demeanor and presentable appearance at all times.
- Willingness to undertake training on new product lines, such as Laptops and PCs.
This role requires an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check and SC Clearance, which includes a basic criminal record check. Applicants must disclose all spent and unspent convictions, cautions, reprimands, and final warnings that are not protected under the 1975 Exceptions Order. Successful completion of these checks is a condition of employment.
