Heavy Duty Cleaner

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Heavy Duty Cleaner to join our team.

This is a permanent part‑time position working 22.5 hours per week from 08:30 to 13:00, Monday to Friday. The salary is £15,239.17 per annum.

• Empty waste bins and remove rubbish from flats to bin store areas
• Separate waste to ensure reaching optimal waste to recycling
• Litter picking and ensuring excellent presentation of the site
• Clean internal and external windows, where applicable
• Vacuum, spot‑clean and shampoo carpets, sweep and polish floors, and clean stairs
• Wash walls, doors, furniture, radiators, lampshades as appropriate
• During the summer season only: make beds, including stripping and changing sheeting; collect laundered linen from store, bag and pack laundry for collection
• Clean and wash glasses, cutlery and cooking utensils, as appropriate
• Daily liaison with residents, Residence Managers and associated UPP staff
• Act in accordance with all Health & Safety policies and practices at all times
• Prepare to work additional hours when needed, especially during main student arrival and departure weekends

• Experience of cleaning in a similar environment
• Strong communication and organisation skills, attention to detail and passion for excellence
• Good conversational standard of English and ability to read and interpret Health & Safety guidance
• Willingness to work at other sites if required, on short notice
