Hours: 42.5 hours per week

Reports to: General Manager

As Depot Manager
, you will lead and manage the day‑to‑day aftersales operations of the depot, ensuring the efficient, compliant, and cost‑effective running of all workshop activities. The role requires a strong focus on customer service, health and safety, people management, and maximizing profitability.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead, motivate, and develop the service, parts, and administrative teams to deliver excellent performance and customer satisfaction.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews, address training needs and identify and implement a training plan for all depot staff.
  • Select and recruit staff in all departments.
  • Drive a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
  • Manage staffing levels, recruitment, and rota planning.
Skills & Qualifications
  • Excellent understanding of HGV service, repair, and maintenance processes.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and team management skills.
  • Strong communicator with excellent organisational skills.
  • Proactive, results‑driven, and commercially minded.
  • Ability to plan, prioritise, and problem‑solve under pressure.
  • Resilient under pressure and capable of problem‑solving in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Strong customer service focus with ability to build long‑term relationships.
  • Committed to continuous improvement and developing others.
  • Awareness and understanding of health and safety requirements.
  • IT literate with good working knowledge of MS Office and workshop management systems.
  • Commercial awareness with a track record of achieving financial targets.
