As Station Manager – On‑call, you will provide direct line management to our on‑call stations and play a pivotal role in strengthening on‑call service delivery across RBFRS. This includes responsibility for operational line management, recruitment and succession planning, training oversight, performance management, standardisation, and retention initiatives. You will champion on‑call workforce and response matters and act as the organisational focal point for all on‑call–related issues.

The role provides an excellent opportunity to contribute to, and influence, the wider Hub Management Team.

We are seeking individuals who are forward‑thinking, people‑centred, and eager to lead and develop within RBFRS. Applicants must hold Incident Command Level 1.

This role is an ideal next step for a middle manager who:

Demonstrates strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams and departments

Has a meticulous eye for detail and a commitment to delivering a high‑quality service to our on‑call communities

Understands national on‑call workforce challenges and how these translate into local impacts

Individuals must hold a valid qualification in order to meet the Flexi-Duty requirements of the role. Confirmation of eligibility will be looked at on a case by case basis upon application.
