Apprentice Operative – RMX -tarmac​/TP

Overview

At Tarmac, our Operatives are the heartbeat of our business. As an Apprentice Operative, you’ll gain hands-on experience in the production of concrete, aggregates, asphalt, and other essential building materials. You’ll learn how to meet technical specifications, ensure product quality, and operate safely in a fast-paced environment.

• Supporting the safe and efficient operation of a ready-mix concrete plant
• Learning to lead RMX operations and ensure the safety of all site personnel and visitors
• Assisting with toolbox talks and safety briefings
• Managing daily production tasks such as stock ordering, inspections, and defect reporting
• Helping to manufacture high-quality concrete in line with technical standards
• Contributing to operational performance and continuous improvement initiatives
• Maintaining plant availability through inspections and scheduled maintenance
• Keeping the site clean, organised, and compliant with health and safety standards
• Life on site! You will work both inside and outside, sometimes in a dusty or confined environment. However, your health and safety are our number one priority and full protective clothing is provided
• Your colleagues are also there to help and look out for you, as safety is everyone’s responsibility
