The RoleA fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer to join a well-established and growing manufacturing business in Reading.
This is a fast-paced production environment where you'll become part of a highly skilled engineering team responsible for ensuring maximum machinery reliability and plant performance. As a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer, you will carry out both planned and reactive maintenance activities, diagnose faults, minimise downtime, and contribute to continuous improvement projects across the site.
Key Responsibilities- Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) across production machinery and site equipment.
- Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns and diagnose faults efficiently.
- Conduct both electrical and mechanical fault finding and repairs.
- Work collaboratively with production teams to minimise downtime.
- Support continuous improvement and reliability initiatives.
- Ensure all maintenance work is completed safely and in line with company procedures.
- Accurately complete maintenance documentation and reports.
Manufacturing / Factory Maintenance
Essential Requirements- Previous experience working as a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer within a manufacturing, FMCG, processing, distribution, or industrial environment.
- Strong electrical and mechanical fault-finding abilities.
- Experience carrying out planned, preventative, and reactive maintenance.
- Recognised engineering qualification (Electrical, Mechanical, Multi-Skilled or equivalent).
- Ability to work effectively within a fast-paced production environment.
- PLC fault-finding experience, including working with inputs and outputs.
- Experience working on conveyors, motors, drives, sensors, pumps, pneumatics, and control systems.
- Previous experience within an automated manufacturing environment.
- Salary of up to £54,000
