Job Overview
Band 5 Staff Nurse – Hopkins Ward (Urology Elective & Emergency ward). The ward is a 21‑bedded unit caring for elective and emergency urology patients within a fast‑paced environment. We provide teaching, education and a strong focus on patient safety and experience.
This permanent, full‑time position (37.5 hours per week) offers a salary of £31,049 – £37,796 per annum with standard NHS benefits.
Responsibilities- Undertake and record comprehensive nursing assessment and planning, delivering and evaluating high‑standard, evidence‑based nursing care to a diverse group of patients.
- Deliver care without direct supervision and be accountable for the care delivered, including any omissions of care.
- Teach and supervise more junior staff, students and the non‑registered nursing workforce.
- Act as a role model, delivering care with empathy and compassion as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Engage in daily multi‑specialty ward rounds and support learning opportunities for nursing staff.
- Registered Nurse – part 1
- Current NMC registration
- Evidence of recent continuous professional development
- Experience (through placement or employment) of working in an acute clinical environment
- Experience in a specialty setting may be an advantage
- Appropriate UK professional registration
- Compliance with the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (Amendment) (England and Wales) and the Disclosure and Barring Service checks
