The RoleWe are building a UK-wide panel of Endoscopy Nurses to support clinical in sourcing programmes delivered within NHS endoscopy units. Insourcing enables additional elective capacity to be delivered through planned endoscopy lists outside standard operating hours, commonly evenings and weekends, supporting waiting list reduction and elective recovery.
We are seeking experienced Endoscopy Nurses with recent NHS endoscopy experience to support insourced activity including diagnostic and surveillance lists. Assignments are delivered on-site within NHS Trusts, working alongside existing Trust teams or dedicated in sourcing MDTs.
You will be supported throughout onboarding, bookings, rota planning, and ongoing engagement management by Pro Medical’s specialist in sourcing team.

Contract Type: Ongoing in sourcing engagement with flexible sessional allocation
Location:UK-wide, NHS Trust endoscopy units (on-site delivery)
Schedule: Typically evenings and weekends, with rotas agreed in advance
Engagement Model: Planned endoscopy lists delivered within NHS facilities. Work may include block weekend programmes, additional weekday evening lists, or ad hoc sessions depending on Trust demand
Specialty Scope: Endoscopy nursing (diagnostic and surveillance activity)
Depending on the programme and list type, responsibilities may include:
Delivering safe, high-quality nursing care during planned endoscopy in sourcing sessions
Assisting with diagnostic and surveillance procedures (e.g. gastroscopy, colonoscopy, sigmoidoscopy), in line with competence and local protocols
Preparing patients pre-procedure and supporting recovery and discharge processes
Monitoring patients throughout procedures, escalating concerns appropriately
Maintaining accurate and timely clinical documentation in accordance with Trust policies and NMC standards
Working collaboratively with endoscopists, HCAs, and on-site Trust staff to ensure efficient patient flow and list delivery
Adhering to all infection prevention, decontamination, safeguarding, and governance requirements
As a minimum, applicants must meet the following:
Professional Registration: Active NMC registration with no restrictions

Experience:
Recent demonstrable experience working as an Endoscopy Nurse within an NHS or equivalent settingCompetence: Ability to work safely and autonomously within endoscopy services, aligned to Trust policies and JAG standards where applicable
Compliance: Ability to complete full onboarding and compliance checks in line with NHS Employers standards, including right to work and required clearances
Indemnity: Appropriate professional indemnity cover aligned to scope of practice (via NHS arrangements, personal cover, or approved third-party provider, depending on engagement model)
Availability: Willingness to support planned in sourcing sessions, commonly evenings and weekends
Right to Work: Valid Right to Work in the UK (no visa sponsorship available)
