About the Role
We are supporting a well-established school in Reading looking for an experienced School Nurse to join their team on a locum basis. This role is ideal for a Nurse who is passionate about supporting the health and wellbeing of children and young people in an educational environment.
The assignment runs from 23rd February to 28th March, with a strong possibility of extension into the next school term based on performance and school requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day healthcare support to pupils and staff
- Assess and manage minor illnesses, injuries, and medical concerns
- Develop, review, and implement care plans where required
- Support safeguarding procedures and work closely with pastoral teams
- Maintain accurate clinical records and follow school policies
- Promote health education and student wellbeing across the school
About You
We are looking for a Nurse with:
- NMC registration (RGN, RSCN, RMN, RN Child or equivalent)
- Experience in paediatrics, community nursing or school health
- Strong clinical assessment and communication skills
- Ability to work autonomously within a school setting
- Enhanced DBS (or willingness to process one)
