GPwER Women's Health

Responsibilities include:

• A mix of triage, virtual and face to face consultations
• Assessment, diagnosis and management of a wide range of benign gynaecological conditions within the Community Gynaecology Service.
• Independent management of patients within agreed competency levels.
• Performing community-based gynaecological procedures appropriate to training and competence such as:
  • Removal of lost IUS
  • Difficult insertion of IUS
  • Cervical polypectomy
  • Assess and manage incontinence and prolapse symptoms including vaginal pessary
  • Cervical cautery
  • Participation in MDT and other clinical meetings where appropriate.
• Contributing to clinical governance, audit, teaching and service improvement initiatives and ensure service is complaint with CQC legislation.
• Supporting delivery of Berkshire West Women's Health pathways and promoting consistent evidence-based care across Primary Care.

• Maintain an up-to-date knowledge base in womens health, actively engaging in the training and professional development

• Vulval disease assessment.
• Developing procedural skills through supervised practice and competency assessment such as pipelle and vulval biospy.
• Training and professional development opportunities provided by the clinic.
