Responsibilities include:
- A mix of triage, virtual and face to face consultations
- Assessment, diagnosis and management of a wide range of benign gynaecological conditions within the Community Gynaecology Service.
- Independent management of patients within agreed competency levels.
- Performing community-based gynaecological procedures appropriate to training and competence such as:
- Removal of lost IUS
- Difficult insertion of IUS
- Cervical polypectomy
- Assess and manage incontinence and prolapse symptoms including vaginal pessary
- Cervical cautery
- Participation in MDT and other clinical meetings where appropriate.
- Contributing to clinical governance, audit, teaching and service improvement initiatives and ensure service is complaint with CQC legislation.
- Supporting delivery of Berkshire West Women's Health pathways and promoting consistent evidence-based care across Primary Care.
- Maintain an up-to-date knowledge base in womens health, actively engaging in the training and professional development
- Vulval disease assessment.
- Developing procedural skills through supervised practice and competency assessment such as pipelle and vulval biospy.
- Training and professional development opportunities provided by the clinic.
