Job Description

Area Sales Manager, Business Development Manager, Technical Sales Manager - gluing systems, adhesive solutions - packaging. An exceptional opportunity for an experienced Area Sales Manager to come and join this expanding subsidiary, wholly owned by a German based manufacturing company, supplying capital equipment to the folding carton, corrugated, print finishing and end of line packaging industry.

The role primarily involves looking for new business and management of existing accounts. The industry is subject to ever-increasing competition, and you will be charged with keeping the company at the forefront.

You will be responsible for driving business growth and gaining market share in your territory by organising and attending meetings with customers, managing your own diary and working with end customers and OEM's.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with end users and OEM's to generate new and ongoing business.
  • Develop and execute effectively a sales strategy to achieve sales targets.
  • Identify new potential customers and seek to supply them with our equipment.
  • Deal with specific customer enquiries, providing quotations and closing the sale.
  • Organise your travel to meet customers approx. 4 days per week to understand customer needs and provide a solution.
  • Manage all incoming issues right through to conclusion, and positively influence customer satisfaction.
  • Complete sales reports and submit an activity / new business report.
Person Specification
  • Track record of success in B2B sales, preferably selling technical solutions or consumables.
  • Strong territory management skills with ability to plan and manage your schedule effectively.
  • Be capable of forming long term business relationships with customers.
  • Excellent and strong communication skills with negotiation and relationship building skills.
  • Be a team player and flexible attitude capable of working within a small company environment.

Any knowledge of the packaging sector will be of particular interest.
