Business Development Manager – Commercial Washroom Projects
At Cistermiser, we are market leaders in intelligent water management solutions for commercial buildings, helping organisations reduce water consumption, improve sustainability performance and drive operational efficiency. This role is a high‑impact field sales position focused on winning and developing commercial washroom projects across public and private sectors.
Key Responsibilities- Own a defined territory, driving new business growth through specification‑led sales activity.
- Generate new business opportunities across commercial washroom refurbishment and new‑build projects.
- Develop demand with clients, estates teams, sustainability managers, building owners and facilities management professionals.
- Build relationships with M&E contractors, FM contractors, consultants, architects and end‑user clients.
- Engage merchant and distribution partners such as Wolseley, BSS and City Plumbing.
- Present water‑saving solutions and demonstrate ROI through washroom water surveys.
- Specify products from project drawings and sanitaryware schedules.
- Manage projects from lead generation through to survey, business case development, specification and close.
- Maintain a strong project pipeline using CRM systems.
- Projects span education, hotels & hospitality, leisure facilities, public sector, commercial buildings and private sector developments.
- Field sales experience within plumbing, heating or commercial building services sector.
- Experience selling through specification channels and engaging decision makers.
- Strong relationship‑building and consultative sales skills.
- Knowledge of M&E and FM contractors, consultants, architects or end‑user clients.
- Familiarity with merchant routes to market (Wolseley, City Plumbing, BSS).
- Proven track record of generating new business.
- Experience selling flushing systems, flush controls, urinal flushing solutions, washroom valves, showers, sanitaryware or related plumbing products.
- Proactive hunter mentality, personable and confident in front of customers.
- Dynamic, enthusiastic, self‑motivated and highly organised.
- Strong commercial awareness and passion for delivering sustainable water‑saving solutions.
