Assistant Manager - Children's Care Home

Location:

Reading (RG6)
Salary: £35,000 - £42,000 per annum

Contract:

Full Time, Permanent
We are looking for a motivated and experienced  Assistant Manager  to support the Registered Manager in the daily running of our children's care home. You'll help lead the team, ensure compliance, and directly support the children to thrive emotionally and socially.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a senior support worker ready to take the next step or an experienced deputy looking for a new challenge.
Responsibilities
Support the Registered Manager with compliance, supervision, and staff development.
Lead shifts and ensure effective daily operations.
Support the development and implementation of care plans and risk assessments.
Act as a positive role model for staff and young people.
Handle incidents, reporting, and safeguarding concerns in line with policy.

Qualifications
Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent);
Level 5 preferred or willing to work towards.
Strong understanding of safeguarding, child development, and behavioural management.
Enhanced DBS check required.
Leadership potential and good interpersonal skills.
