A family-run haulier working out of Twyford, near Reading, since the 1950s, with a modern, well-kept fleet  and we're growing. Our trucks have delivered everywhere from London building sites to Buckingham Palace and Downing Street, and we're after another Class 2 driver to help us do it.

The work

Building materials, palletised goods, scaffolding and steel from our Twyford depot to sites across London and the South of England

Rigids up to 32 tonnes, flatbed and curtainside, with Hiab and Moffett offloads on site for the right tickets

Proper professional haulage  no multi-drop

Day work, home every night, bar the occasional paid UK night out when the job needs it

Mostly Monday Friday, 10-hour shifts, with overtime there for those who want it

What you'll need

Class 2 (C) licence, valid Driver CPC and a digital tachograph card

A Hiab or Moffett ticket is ideal, and paid accordingly  and FORS training is a huge plus

Hold your C+E as well, or have wagon & drag experience? Even better  that's paid accordingly too, and there's drawbar and artic work to move into when you're ready

To live within about 45 minutes of our Twyford depot (RG10)  the days can be long enough without a big commute on top

Comfortable in and around London, and reliable, professional and polite  you're the face of Bennetts on every site

£38,000 £ 42,000 basic depending on experience  top of the local market for Class 2 work  plus plenty of overtime, because we never run short of it

Genuine progression: this is the seat our Class 1 drivers started in. We regularly put Class 2 drivers through their Class 1, and through Hiab, Moffett and lorry-loader tickets

Paid training kept current: ALLMI Hiab, Moffett, FORS, Driver CPC

A modern, well-maintained fleet  we look after our trucks like we look after our drivers
