Warehouse Operative

As a Warehouse Operative in Reading, you will join Pertemps Reading's logistics team, handling picking and packing orders with precision. This full-time contract offers £12.71 to £14.52 per hour, with shift patterns covering 06:00–14:00, 14:00–22:00, or 22:00–06:00. Duties include loading and unloading vehicles, ensuring stock accuracy, and maintaining a tidy workspace. Full training is provided, and candidates must pass a Drug & Alcohol test.

Immediate starts are available for those with strong attention to detail and reliability.

Please note:

All successful candidates must pass a Drug & Alcohol test as part of the induction process.

• Picking and packing customer orders accurately.
• Loading and unloading vehicles safely and efficiently.
• Moving stock throughout the warehouse using pallet trucks (full training provided).
• Receiving, checking and putting away incoming goods.
• Preparing orders for dispatch and ensuring accurate labelling.
• Breaking down cardboard and operating the baler.
• Carrying out stock checks and general warehouse duties.
• Maintaining a clean, safe and organised working environment.
• Following all health and safety procedures while working to quality and productivity standards.

• Previous warehouse experience is desirable.
• A positive attitude and strong work ethic.
• Good attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Reliable, flexible and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
