CEO Introduction

I’m Kenny Katzgrau, the CEO of Broadstreet, Publisher of Red Bank Green and I’m hiring an assistant. I’ve been with the company for 13 years and we’re a tight-knit team of 14 underdogs working with small local news publishers. We value deep thought, perspective, purpose, optimism, and authenticity, and we’re relentless in pursuing excellence.

Company Mission

Broadstreet is a software company that empowers local news publishers to compete with large platforms like Google and Meta for marketing budgets. Our mission has a profound impact on the communities these businesses serve.

Core Responsibilities
  • Being Assertive
    :
    Act independently to keep projects moving, avoid unnecessary assumptions, and ensure timely completion.
  • Email + Calendar Management
    :
    Apply the Inbox Zero approach, protect focus time, add buffers, and manage seamless scheduling.
  • Project Management
    :
    Oversee 3‑5 concurrent projects, obtaining feedback, coordinating with teams, setting up calls, and taking notes to keep projects on track.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Coordinate company and CEO travel (flights, hotels, itineraries, and events)
  • Manage day‑to‑day office operations (supplies, mail, snacks, and swag)
  • Help plan events such as the company conference, annual onsite, and quarterly lunches
  • Maintain recurring projects in Asana and drive completion across departments
  • Act as liaison between the CEO and team, ensuring clear communication and follow‑up
  • Assist with culture‑building activities (team lunches, fun Fridays, office happenings)
Baseline Requirements
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Experience working directly with executives, teams, or customers
  • Optimistic, curious, and never settle for “good enough”
  • Exceptionally organized and detail‑oriented
Nice to Haves
  • Experience with Asana, Helpscout, Slack, or Google Workspace
  • Comfortable learning tools like Quick Books, Mailchimp, and Word Press
  • Event or travel coordination experience
