Sign Language Teacher
Red Bank Catholic High School is seeking an American Sign Language (ASL) Teacher for the upcoming 2026-27 school year.
Anticipated Opening: 2026‑27
Qualified candidates must be highly organized, flexible, enthusiastic, and able to collaborate with others. They will be responsible for teaching the introductory levels of ASL in accordance with ACFFL and school standards, helping students develop both linguistic proficiency and cultural awareness of the Deaf community.
They will develop engaging, communicative lessons that integrate Deaf culture and history, create a positive, inclusive classroom environment that encourages students to express themselves through ASL, design assessments, and track student progress to ensure meaningful skill development. They should also be able to use technology daily, with an understanding of Google applications.
In addition, they will be involved in the development of the curriculum as it begins with the primary level.
Qualifications- Bachelor’s degree in Deaf Studies, ASL Education, Linguistics, or a related field.
- Prior teaching experience preferred and either a NJ teaching certification or in progress of certification.
Salary range: $40,000 - $60,000 per year, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
