Position: Unit Based Pharmacist - Oncology

The Oncology Unit Based Pharmacist is a patient-centered, unit-based model of care that integrates pharmacists with responsibility for both the clinical and the distributive activities of the pharmacy department. Pharmacists are actively engaged in medication management with strong focus on areas such as medication utilization assessment, pain management and antimicrobial stewardship, and exhibit a high degree of ownership and accountability for the medication-use process.

The Oncology Unit Based pharmacist, in collaboration with physicians and the interdisciplinary team, supports the multiple oncology practices within the institution.

REQUIRED:
  • PGY1 and /or 3 to 5 years of Clinical Oncology experience
  • Possess strong interpersonal skills and work well at the team level , as well as independently
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Registered Pharmacist License in New Jersey
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certification within 6 months of entering position
  • PREFERRED:
  • PGY2 and / or greater than 5 years of Clinical Oncology experience
  • Board Certified Oncology Pharmacist (BCOP)
  • Practice experience in an Oncology inpatient setting
  • Education,

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college of Pharmacy.
  • Possess strong interpersonal skills and work well at the team level, as well as independently.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient computer skills that include but are not limited to Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite platforms.
  • Licenses and Certifications

    Required:
    • Registered Pharmacist License.
    • Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certification within 6 months of entering position.
