Position Overview:
Under the supervision of St. James Parish, the Campus Safety & Security Officer (CSSO) will oversee the safety and well-being of property, students, faculty, and staff at school sites within the campus. The CSSO will enforce applicable policies and assist in maintaining a safe school environment.
Qualifications:
- Must be a retired law enforcement officer with service in good standing within the last 10 years.
- Must provide a letter of good standing from the Chief of Police.
- Resident of N.J. with a valid N.J. driver’s license.
- Of good moral character, with no disqualifying convictions.
- Possess NJ PTC ‘Basic Police Officer Certification’ or equivalent.
- High school diploma or equivalent; proficient in English.
- Physically capable of firearms qualifications; possess valid RPO and SORA licenses.
Uniform and Equipment:
The CSSO must adhere to the dress code and possess a Firearms Identification Card and handgun permit.
Terms of Employment:
Ten-month position with annual evaluation by the Principal.
Salary range: $40,000 - $43,000, commensurate with experience.
