Clerical, Office Administrator/ Coordinator
About the Position:
Under general supervision, provides administrative, program, budgetary, and workflow support to an assigned department and/or division; develops, summarizes, and maintains administrative and fiscal records; directs, oversees, and manages day-to-day operations of programs, special projects, and studies, and performs related administrative support functions; fosters cooperative working relationships among County departments and acts as liaison with various community, public, and regulatory agencies. Performs related work as required.
- Plans, organizes, and executes administrative assignments and special projects related to assigned area of responsibility; maintaining accurate and detailed records; verifying accuracy of information; researching discrepancies and recording information.
- Serves as a liaison, through a variety of mediums, between key department personnel and other County departments, law enforcement agencies, news media, and the general public.
- Addresses concerns, inquiries, or complaints from the general public and takes appropriate action to ensure an expedient and satisfactory resolution.
- Develops, verifies, and reviews forms, contracts, and reports for completeness and conformance with established regulations and procedures; applies departmental and program policies and procedures in determining completeness of applications, records, and files.
Any combination of training and experience that would provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the required qualifications would be:
- Equivalent to completion of the twelfth (12th) grade, supplemented by training in secretarial skills or relevant computer software applications programs.
- Three (3) to five (5) years of increasingly responsible office administrative or advanced secretarial support experience involving some public contact.
- Other combinations of education and experience may be considered.
Special Requirements :
- Require a valid California driver’s license.
- Current, less than 1 year old, typing certificate.
The Department is recruiting for one (1) vacancy.
In addition, Tehama County is establishing an eligibility list to fill future vacancies for an Administrative Assistant, as well as subsequent vacancies which occur during the life of the eligibility list.
New employees should anticipate being hired at the beginning step of the salary range. Candidates who exceed entry level qualifications may be considered, with approval from the Board of Supervisors, for placement at other than A step.
