We are seeking a Locums Orthopedic Surgery Physician to provide 24/7 emergency department and inpatient consultation coverage at a small rural community hospital in Red Bluff, California. This facility is a 72‑bed community hospital and a Level III Trauma Center, serving a close‑knit population with essential orthopedic needs. Higher‑acuity cases are transferred to a tertiary facility to the north, allowing for full‑scope general orthopedic coverage without complex‑subspecialty burden.
Compensation: $2600 Per Day for 24 Hour Shift
Schedule & Coverage- Coverage Type: 24/7 ED and inpatient consult coverage
- Call Requirements: 24‑hour call, including weekends
- Weekend Coverage: 24‑hour call
- Setting: Community hospital (Level III Trauma Center)
- Provide 24/7 orthopedic consultation for the emergency department and inpatient services
- Manage and treat a full range of general orthopedic cases
- Perform orthopedic procedures within the scope of a community hospital setting
- Collaborate with emergency medicine providers, hospitalists, and nursing staff
- Ensure timely evaluation, treatment, and disposition of orthopedic patients
- Full general orthopedic coverage
- Higher‑level or complex cases transferred to a tertiary care facility as appropriate
- Hospital Size: 72 licensed beds
- EMR: Cerner
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Orthopedic Surgery
- Completion of an ACGME‑ or AOA‑accredited Orthopedic Surgery residency
- Active California medical license
- DEA registration
- California fluoroscopy permit
