Assistant Store Manager at O'Reilly Auto Parts
Compensation Pay Range: $16.50 - $24.50 per hour. The actual hourly rate will equal or exceed the applicable minimum wage. Additional compensation may include annual, quarterly performance bonuses or premiums, based on schedule, facility, season, or specific work performed. Multiple premiums may apply if criteria are met.
This position will support the Store Manager in sales, customer service, store appearance and operations. The Assistant Store Manager will manage the store during the Store Manager’s absence and/or when working opposing shifts and lead the store team in servicing customers. Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply.
Essential Job Functions- Lead store team in providing excellent customer service to retail and professional customers.
- Supervise customer service levels on the retail showroom including execution of customer service programs (Related sales, Hi5, Rock the Call, Never Say No, Rock the Lot, etc.).
- Work with the store manager to ensure the retail sales counter is adequately staffed, especially during peak hours.
- Assist the store manager in setting team member goals, providing feedback, coaching/mentoring, and ensuring training is current.
- Assist in the hiring process: complete recruiting tasks, schedule interviews, evaluate candidates, and collaborate with management to select qualified team members.
- Ensure telephone is answered according to company policy.
- Process buy online/ship to store, hub‑to‑store transfers, and DC add orders in a timely manner and contact customers upon shipment arrivals.
- Use electronic outside purchase order ledger to handle special orders and outside purchases efficiently according to procedure.
- Process retail customer returns and exchanges efficiently, issuing refunds accurately and staging returned merchandise correctly.
- Invoice all merchandise, including core charges and warranties, before product leaves the store.
- Communicate Zipline messages, and delegate and complete Image Maker and merchandising tasks as assigned.
- Ensure team members comply with company policies: posted work schedule, approvals for changes/deviations, clocking in/out appropriately.
- Perform store opening/closing duties: day end procedures, verify and secure money/deposits, prepare bank deposits, secure building and delivery vehicles.
- Assist the store manager in maintaining the store building, parking lot, exterior signage/lighting, computer hardware, in‑store service/test equipment, and delivery vehicles.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
- Required: Sales Specialist Training, Assistant Manager Certification, RSS Certification.
- Desired: Certified Parts Professional Certification; ASE Certification.
- Fluency in multiple languages (Spanish highly desired).
