Accounting Technician Central Services
37.5 hours weekly
Commencing when a suitable candidate is found.
The successful applicant will provide support to the Finance department and school Administrative Support. This position requires a high level of integrity and confidentiality with capability and willingness to be flexible with new processes.
Key Duties- Review and approve monthly school reports, reviewing documents, monitoring fees and general compliance.
- Communicate with Division purchasing card cardholders regarding submission of receipts, policies and procedures.
- Accounting admin support to accounting and banking software programs including Power School Atrieve
ERP, RYCOR Fee Management and BMO Spend Dynamics. - General duties include but not limited to: digital filing financial records, updating, reviewing, and maintaining accounting databases.
- Providing assistance and support to the Accounting Team, and other duties as assigned.
- Completion of an accredited Office Administration or Accounting/Bookkeeping program.
- Minimum two years experience in an accounting or bookkeeping role, with a proven understanding of the full accounting cycle.
- Proficient in Excel (intermediate to advanced), Google Workspace, and Adobe.
- Experience with accounting software required;
Power School Atrieve (or similar ERP) is a preferred asset, along with a strong willingness to learn. - Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Proven ability to manage a high volume of diverse tasks and deadlines simultaneously without losing accuracy.
- Strong problem solving and organizational skills
- Independent and self-motivated worker
This competition will remain open until a suitable candidate is found.
Salary range: $28.13 to $32.60 per hour. Initial placement on the salary grid will be determined based on the successful candidate’s education and experience.
