About the Role

As a temporary Receptionist, you will serve as the face of our client’s office in Red Deer. This position is ideal for an administrative professional or student who values work‑life balance and is looking for temporary work that fits their schedule. Because internal computer access is not required for these specific duties, you are welcome to bring a book or your personal computer to stay occupied during quieter periods of the day.

This business administration role offers an outstanding pay rate of $19.00‑$21.00 per hour and requires coverage for two distinct upcoming blocks:

  • Block 1:
    August 10th to August 14th (Monday to Thursday: 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM; Friday: 8:30 AM – 2:00 PM)
  • Block 2:
    September 16th to September 21st (8:30 AM – 4:30 PM daily)

Responsibilities

As a temporary Receptionist representing our client through Randstad Professional, you will manage light front‑desk operations in the business administration department. Your daily responsibilities include:

  • Greet arriving clients, visitors, and walk‑ins with a warm, welcoming, and professional demeanor.
  • Offer beverages (coffee, tea, water) to clients upon arrival and ensure they feel comfortable while waiting for their advisor.
  • Notify advisors or staff members promptly when their scheduled appointments have arrived.
  • Receive, sign for, and sort daily incoming mail and packages into the designated back‑office mail slots.
  • Maintain the tidy, organized appearance of the reception desk, lobby, and beverage station area.
  • Refer to the provided office instruction sheet to handle any minor, location‑specific requests.
Qualifications

To be considered for this temporary Receptionist vacancy, candidates must meet these basic criteria:

  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, with a natural talent for customer service and front‑facing hospitality.
  • Clear, professional, and friendly verbal communication skills.
  • Strong active listening skills to effectively address walk‑in inquiries or client needs.
