Worley is seeking a practical, field-focused Deputy HSE Manager to support our Canada Construction business. This role acts as the second-in-command to the HSE Manager and helps translate HSE expectations into clear, disciplined execution across construction projects and active work fronts. You will work closely with project leaders, construction managers, supervisors, contractors and HSE Advisors to ensure work is planned, risks are understood, critical controls are verified, and teams have the support needed to deliver safely and effectively.

This role requires a strategic leader who can anticipate risk, influence project outcomes, build high-performing teams, and drive a proactive safety culture across multiple construction environments. The successful candidate will be agile, resilient, and motivated by continuous improvement, operational excellence, and visible field leadership.

Working Conditions
  • Home Base Office:
    Calgary, Edmonton, or Red Deer, Alberta.
  • Regular travel to construction sites, fabrication yards, module yards and client-controlled worksites will be required.
  • Work may include field-based assignments, rotational site support, office-based planning and project governance activities.
  • The role requires comfort working in active construction environments, including outdoor conditions, industrial worksites and areas with active equipment and simultaneous operations.
Responsibilities
  • Lead day-to-day implementation of Worley and project HSE requirements across active construction work fronts.
  • Partner with project and construction leadership to align HSE priorities with project execution, business objectives, and operational performance.
  • Support construction readiness, including planning, risk review, mobilization, onboarding and workface preparation.
  • Verify critical controls for higher-risk work, including permit-to-work, energy isolation, confined space, lifting and rigging, working at heights, excavation, hot work and mobile equipment.
  • Support contractor HSE alignment, readiness reviews, field engagement, performance monitoring and action closeout.
  • Lead or support incident response, investigation, reporting, corrective action development and lessons learned.
  • Provide day-to-day direction to HSE Advisors and field HSE personnel.
  • Support the development of future HSE leaders through mentoring, coaching and succession planning.
  • Complete field inspections, assurance checks, site walks and leadership engagement activities to confirm controls are effective in practice.
  • Prepare clear HSE reports, trend summaries, assurance updates and contractor performance information for project and HSE leadership.
