Instrumentation and Control Technician Instructor - Sessional

School of Trades and Technology is looking for one Sessional Instructor for the 2026/27 Academic Year to teach and develop curriculum in the Instrumentation and Control Technician Apprenticeship program. The position will begin on August 11, 2026.

Job Duties
  • Maintain, develop, and instruct the theory and shop components of the Alberta Instrumentation and Control Technician Apprenticeship program.
  • Ongoing planning and curriculum review.
  • Participate in school, program, and other polytechnic service committees, program promotion and student recruitment.
Qualifications
  • Alberta Journeyperson Certificate as Instrumentation and Control Technician.
  • Minimum 5 years post‑Journeyperson work experience.
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Effective time management and organizational skills.
  • Aptitude for mentoring and coaching others.
  • Comfortable with public speaking and able to convey course topics to diverse students and learning styles.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience teaching post‑secondary learners through both in‑person and online formats.
  • Journeyperson certification in one or more additional related trades.
  • Management or leadership experience.
