Position Title:
Part‑Time Business Instructor – FINS 4200 (Winter)
Teach the Retirement Planning course (FINS 4200) to a diverse group of learners. Facilitate interactive, applied learning experiences that synthesize theory and practice. Support student success in an engaging, responsive, and flexible learning environment.
Teaching Responsibilities- Deliver course content on retirement planning strategies, government and employer‑supported retirement programs, and private retirement support.
- Use evidence‑based teaching methods to create varied learning experiences.
- Maintain currency in the discipline and in teaching practices through continuous professional development.
- Encourage student success by responding to student needs and ideas.
- Engage in continuous pursuit of knowledge to remain current in the discipline.
- Have the opportunity to undertake scholarly and creative activities that advance the discipline and enhance the reputation of Red Deer Polytechnic.
- Contribute to community development through knowledge dissemination.
- Record of relevant business experience.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Post‑secondary teaching experience.
- Winter Term: January 6, 2027 – April 13, 2027
- Class Times: Tuesday & Thursday, 18:30 – 19:50, on‑campus
- Contract Period: December 16, 2026 – April 30, 2027
- Preparation & grading periods included in the contract dates.
- Salary commensurate with education and experience.
- Part‑time instructors receive an additional 14 % of gross salary in lieu of benefits and vacation pay.
