Position Information

Title: Faculty/Instructor – Sessional Sprinkler System Installer (Fire Instructor)

Responsibilities
  • Maintain, develop, and instruct the theory and shop components of the Alberta Apprenticeship program for Sprinkler System Installer.
  • Deliver program content face‑to‑face and via virtual format.
  • Participate in school, department, and program committees.
  • Promote the program and recruit students.
Qualifications
  • Alberta Journeyperson Certificate in Sprinkler System Installer.
  • Minimum 5 years post‑Journeyperson work experience.
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Effective time‑management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to mentor and coach others.
  • Comfortable public speaker, able to convey course content to diverse students and learning styles.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience teaching post‑secondary learners through in‑person and online formats.
  • Journeyperson certification in one or more additional related trades.
