Language Requirements

English Level 5-Fluent. Eligibility:
Open to Canadian Citizens and Permanent Residents of Canada only.

Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with the Ministry of Labour and Skills and their team based in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
  • Institutionalize Competency-Based Training (CBT) by jointly developing high-quality Occupational Standards, Modular Curricula, and Standardized Assessment Toolkits.
  • Cultivate a sustainable group of certified local Lead Trainers to guarantee enduring pedagogical autonomy.
  • Ensure local labour demands are aligned with international standards beyond drafting guidelines.
  • Perform industrial gap analyses and organize "DACUM" (Developing A Curriculum) workshops in collaboration with local industry leaders.
  • Transition curriculum from traditional theoretical instruction to Competency-Based Training (CBT).
  • Develop modular curricula emphasizing practical skills, incorporating "Green TVET" principles and components of digital literacy.
  • Develop extensive assessment banks featuring practical projects, oral examinations, and observation checklists.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical or vocational training-related field.
  • Master of Science (asset).
  • At least 5 years of work experience in the technical and vocational training system in a leadership role.
  • At least 2 years of industry experience either in leadership or as an expert.
  • Knowledge of technical and vocational training for trainers, technology fabrication and transfer, effective ship training practices, and proficiency in using digital technologies.
