École Secondaire Notre Dame High School seeks a full-time Probationary Braille Specialist to support a Grade 10 student.
Your role includes coaching in UEB code and enhancing tactile skills.
As a Probationary Braille Specialist, you will provide hands-on coaching to help students master braille and tactile literacy. This position involves guiding technology use and monitoring progress, ensuring tailored support for each student's unique needs. Your patience and empathy will play a critical role in overcoming challenges and fostering literacy.
Key Responsibilities:
• Reinforce Unified English Braille (UEB) code with students
• Assist in developing tactile discrimination skills
• Instruct on Refreshable Braille Displays and Braille Note-takers
• Monitor student progress in braille reading
• Provide feedback to the Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI)
Requirements:
• Proficiency in Unified English Braille (UEB)
• Strong instructional skills for diverse learners
• Patience and interpersonal skills with students
• Familiarity with the Expanded Core Curriculum (ECC)
Support student literacy development through your expertise in braille at École Secondaire Notre Dame.
