Job Description
We are seeking a Conditional Continuous Appointment (Probationary) Heavy Equipment Technician Instructor to teach and develop curriculum in the Heavy Equipment Technician Apprenticeship program commencing August 4, 2026. The instructor will actively participate in faculty and program activities, contribute to course delivery, and support student success.
Job Duties
- Maintain, develop, and instruct the theory and shop components of the Alberta Heavy Equipment Technician Apprenticeship program.
- Plan and conduct ongoing curriculum review.
- Participate in school, program, and polytechnic service committees.
- Promote the program and recruit students.
Qualifications
- Alberta Journeyperson Certificate in Heavy Equipment Technician.
- Minimum 5 years post‑Journeyperson work experience.
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- Effective time‑management and organizational skills.
- Aptitude for mentoring and coaching.
- Comfortable with public speaking and able to convey course topics to diverse learners.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience teaching post‑secondary learners via in‑person and online formats.
- Journeyperson certification in one or more additional related trades.
- Management or leadership experience.
Salary
Salary commensurate with education and experience.
