Position: Instructor for Heavy Equipment Technician Program
Elevate your teaching career with Red Deer Polytechnic as a Heavy Equipment Technician Instructor. This conditional continuous appointment focuses on curriculum development, student support, and active participation in program activities.

As an instructor, you will join Red Deer Polytechnic to teach within the Heavy Equipment Technician Apprenticeship program starting August 4, 2026.

Your role will involve maintaining curriculum, conducting reviews, and engaging actively in school service activities. You'll also promote the program and help recruit students to enhance their learning experience.

Key Responsibilities:

• Instruct and develop theory and shop components of the curriculum

• Conduct ongoing reviews for enhanced teaching effectiveness

• Participate in program committees to improve student services

• Promote the program to potential students and community

• Support student success through mentorship and guidance

Requirements:

• Alberta Journeyperson Certificate in Heavy Equipment Technician

• Minimum 5 years of work experience post certification

• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Power Point

• Strong time-management and organizational skills

• Effective public speaking abilities to engage diverse learners
