Casual Educational Assistant

Provide vital support to students as a Substitute Educational Assistant in Red Deer. This casual role requires working Monday through Friday, offering assistance primarily in behavioral support.

In this position, you will step into various school environments on an as-needed basis throughout the school year. You must be available at short notice and willing to support students from Pre-Kindergarten to high school.

Experience with challenging behaviors and complex needs is preferred, along with a strong problem-solving ability to address daily challenges.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support students across grade levels with behavior management

• Work independently with minimal supervision in diverse settings

• Lift and assist with toileting and self-care duties as needed

• Collaborate with teachers to optimize student engagement

• Adapt to the needs of each student during placements

Requirements:

• Availability for casual shifts Monday through Friday

• Educational Assistant Certificate or related diploma preferred

• Experience supporting children with complex behaviors

• Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills

• Ability to perform physical tasks required for student support
